Nick and Diana, this is a wonderful resource you are providing! thank you. Blessings.
Thanks for your support Mickey!
Diana & Nick, I am really enjoying the video presentations that you have been doing with the website. This was a great overview and I look forward to seeing the next six as you spellout the steps from the General Directory. This is a really great ministry that you are offering to folks…it is very, very accessible. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Doug! That means a lot to us. Blessings on your ministry.
Diane & Nick. Thank you so much for this. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the marathon series. You are such a great help to me as I try to figure out the best approaches to implementing the RCIA process in our parish. I am so grateful.
Thanks for your kind words Gladys. We’re glad the videos are helpful. Keep up all the great work you are doing in your parish!
Thanks, Diana and Nick, for a great initial video in this free marathon. I am looking forward to tomorrow. You gave me lots to reflect on for today. Enjoy your summer.
Thanks for your great support Mike! Blessings on all your fine work.
Yay! I saw them!! Thanks so much for keeping the first one up, and for what YOU are doing! This resource is so valuable for drawing us deeper. Obviously there is a hunger for that since there were so many of us it crashed. What a blessing! (As a production aside, the background for the second video was peaceful and pretty, and you guys looked good!) What a fun week. God bless you!
Thanks Lawson! I’m glad the videos have been fun for you. They’re fun for us to do. The tech problems have definitely NOT been fun, but it’s a small thing in the grand scheme of things. Blessings on your ministry.
watched the first on Monday but the next 4 this evening…an hour well spent…
I really like the thought that fully initiated is the same status for neophytes and popes!
I’m glad it was a productive hour Ann Marie! Thanks for all the great work you are doing.
Thank you for putting these presenataions for view on TeamRCIA. I really enjoy this website. God Bless your RCIA ministry.
Thank you Deacon Mark! I’m glad the videos are helpful. Blessings on all your work.
Thank you Nick (and ‘Dana’?) – I have watched one easily and it is really helpful. I will share it with my Team on Wednesday and encourage them to watch for themselves (I’m still ‘training’ them up!). It has been worth the wait and thank you for persevering with the website matter.s
God bless you
Rita
Hi Rita. We’re really sorry you had to wait, but we’re also glad it was worth it. Keep up the great work with training your team. You are doing an important ministry!
Thanks again Diana and Nick for all the hard work!I am always challenged in initiation ministry by continually guiding others towards “a way of being” rather than a focus on intellectual formation and these videos provide a great frameework for thoughtfully approaching and planning at all three levels of catechsis. I particularly appreciated your going through the attitudes of growing into commuity from Matthew’s Gospel – they will be a point of focus and emphasis for me this year with our group.
Thanks for your kind comments Laurita. And thanks for all the work you are doing in your community. Blessings.
Hi Diana and Nick,
Spending this time with you has been very beneficial to my ministry in the RCIA. I am beginning my second year with youth in the Inquiry process. I was able to garner a jewel from each of these videos to use in the upcoming sessions. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and your love of Jesus Christ with each and everyone of us.
Reggie
Thanks Reggie! And thanks for all your commitment and dedication to catechumenate ministry. Keep up the great work.
I was in retreat the week you offered this 7-day video marathon, and then heard you had technical difficulties when trying to pull it off. Just happened to see it on your website this afternoon, clicked on it and listened to the first of the videos. What an inspiring message from the two of you! I never cease to be enriched every time I get a message from your web site. This is truly my new goal for our RCIA process–to encourage all of us to grow in our intimacy with Jesus, the glorified and cosmic Christ. I look forward to listening to the rest of them. God bless you!
I just listened to you video, Learning the Liturgy: A Potter’s Guide. When you mentioned the inital proclamation catechesis and how we do this at weddings and funerals, it really rang a bell for me. In our parish the pastor and I meet with the family for about an hour as we learn about their loved one who has just died. Many of the families we meet with today have at least one or more of the children who have left the Catholic church. After we have spent about 45 minutes reflecting on the person’s life, we than look at scripture readings that can connect with those reflections. WE explain that the homily will be a weaving of the scriptures and the stories they have shared with us. After the scriptures have been chosen, we then have them choose the music and we finalize the liturgical ministers for the vigil and funeral. Our pastor is an excellent liturgist and homilist and many people tell us how much they appreciate our funeral liturgies. Now I see that what we are doing is “initial proclamation”–an opportunity to grow into a new relationship with the glorified Christ!
